This looks pretty good. You have a lot of work out in front of you but when everything is said and done, you should be able to share accurate findings with the connection to student motivating and boosting those standards' scores!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a wonderful action research topic because motivation drives student learning. Your action research plan is well thought out and easy to follow. You've set reachable, measurable goals. I particularly like the ongoing evaluation of the incentive program. Good work!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good plan to motivate students. I think your biggest challenge will be a way to recognize the students who need the most motivation. They are usually the ones with attendance issues and don't get chosen for student of month. Looking forward to reading your findings and maybe do some collaborating on our shared topic :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. I most definitely agree that those students are going to be the most difficult to reach. It is an ongoing process that has to be assessed almost daily, if not period by period. As I stated in my homework, I believe trust is the first step. The students need to believe you really have their best interest at heart. When you have that, they are, most of the time, willing to do anything you ask to make you happy and make them successful.
